Why BoxWars Requests Google User Data
Google sign-in is optional. Users can play as a guest on the same device without signing in, but guest stats and cross-device progress are not saved.
When a user chooses Google sign-in, BoxWars uses Google account data to create and restore that user’s BoxWars profile. This allows users to save gameplay progress, keep match history, view personal stats, and use the same BoxWars profile across devices.
Google User Data Requested
BoxWars requests basic Google account identity data only: a Google account identifier, display name, email address, and profile picture when Google provides it through the sign-in flow.
What BoxWars Does With Google User Data
- The Google account identifier links the signed-in user to their BoxWars profile and saved stats.
- The display name is used only as an initial suggested BoxWars display name. Users can choose a different public display name before playing.
- The profile picture may be shown as the player avatar in matches to make players easier to distinguish.
- The email address is used to identify the signed-in account and support account recovery or data requests.
BoxWars does not sell Google user data and does not use Google user data for advertising.
How BoxWars Enhances User Functionality
Signing in lets players preserve stats, replay finished matches, migrate guest progress into a signed-in profile, and return to the same profile from another browser or device.
